At the forefront of technological development and evolution
of the ophthalmic surgical practice, The Montreal Eye Clinic
constantly strives to refine its techniques in order to offer
its patients the best possible treatment.
On several occasions,
the clinic has been among the first in Canada
to acquire sophisticated equipment that enabled it to introduce
new surgical techniques. As a result, The Montreal
Eye Clinic is very well positioned to constantly remain at
the forefront of scientific and technological developments
in the field of ophthalmology.

In October 1999, The Montreal Eye Clinic
was chosen by Allergan, a leading American pharmaceutical company,
as a Canadian excellence centre to train surgeons in modern
cataract surgery procedures.
In September 2001, The Montreal Eye Clinic
was chosen a second time, in this case by the American company
STAAR, as the excellence centre in Quebec, and among only three
Canadian excellence centres, to train surgeons in the technique
of contact lens implantation in the eye.

The
Montreal Eye Clinic organizes an annual scientific symposium
which has become one of the most popular in Quebec with an average
attendance of 300 eye specialists. The clinic also publishes
an annual scientific bulletin targeted at eye specialists and
participates in national and international scientific studies.
In May 2006, a new step in the evolution of
the Montreal Eye was the opening of our South Shore office to offer the same
level of service to the residents of the South Shore of Montreal. |
